Greg Chappell was the outstanding Australian batsman of his generation. Though he had an appetite for big scores, it was his calm manner that bowlers found just as disheartening. In this book, Greg reflects upon how things have changed since he grew up playing cricket in his backyard with his brothers Ian and Trevor; how Australia's fortunes have see-sawed over the years; the great teams and the great players; the scandals and the opportunities. He has been a cricketer, captain, commentator and selector - he has seen it all.

A sensitive, perhaps fractured mind, and anxiety angled viewer of cricket and life. As a writer, he should stick to cricket...not much new in here, save for his Indian coaching experience insights.

G Chappell was my first cricket hero. I cried aged seven when he retired. So, who really cares if he's not the most fantastic writer? He was a fantastic cricketer and that's what really matters; 53.86 and all that!
