"Pain can motivate you. God may allow you to crash! If He cushioned every blow, you would never grow." (Mike Murdock, How to Turn Your Mistakes Into Miracles)

This book gives strategies for handling mistakes. Some of the first steps the author says to do with mistakes are: 1) Accept your humanity; and 2) Admit your mistake.

He says, "You are not God. Neither do you have 'angel wings.' Your possibilities of making a mistake are one hundred percent. Your response to your mistakes determines your success."

So how does the author say we should respond to our mistakes? He says that we should assign the responsibility of the mistake to those truly responsible, review the options available to you at the time of your mistake, identify the people you permitted to influence you during the time of your mistake, be willing to taste pain of your mistake...

My favorite chapter was Develop the Mentality of a Winner. In this chapter he explains that we become what we think about. How our thoughts control our life; therefore, we require to "visualize what we want to materialize." The best way he says to do this is by reading the Bible. By reading the Bible we will begin to understand God, others, and ourselves in God's light.

Highly recommended.

Best advice received : "Practice the Zacchaeus principle: when you make a mistake, provide restitution to those who have been negatively affected. The proof of repentance is restitution"
