Barron describes the Health and Wealth gospel and its adherents and does so without endorsing or comdemning it. Prosperity Theology (PT) consists of positive confession, healing, and prosperity. Stems from positive thinking philosophies such as Norman Vincent Peale's etc... Makes distinction between Pentecostalism and Charismatics with the latter being a more mainstream movement including tongues speech. Faith healings popularized by Hagin and Kuhlman have influenced a variety of traditions. One study found that of faith healings after six months most had either died or remained sick and healings and insanity had the same frequency. While Hagin came slightly before Roberts, Roberts was first to see the value of television in promoting the healing message in 1954. Roberts mentored the Copelands. According to PT, the curse of the law has been broken (not the curse of the fall). This book is valuable in its specific assessment of Biblical justification for PT.
