Mairi Mackinnon has lived in England, Scotland, France, Italy and Spain, and worked as a teacher, translator and tour manager before joining Usborne. Over the years she has written and edited Usborne books in sixteen languages, from Arabic to Welsh. She lives in a house full of teenagers, books and curious musical instruments.

This was cute and funny. 4 of the fairytales I didn't know and the others were changed a bit. One was a bit short and one anoyed me because of a young girl willing to marry a man she met a second ago. But other than that, this was great to read before bed after reading a thriller type book hihi

I LOVE these versions of the classic fairy tales, with simple words and wonderful pictures for young readers!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book again, reading it alongside the Usborne book of Fairy Tales and comparing them. This book's stories are written more in the style we are used to, although the book also includes a couple of stories I'd not read elsewhere.
