An inspiring collection of interviews with and profiles of a diverse group of strong, mature, wise women, all of whom view menopause as a life-affirming, spiritually enlightening transformation, Red Moon Passage features discussions by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Carol Pearson, Kachinas Kutenai, Paula Gunn Allen, and many others.
Bonnie Horrigan worked for The Bravewell Collaborative for more than a decade, the last four years of which she served as its executive director. The author of Red Moon Passage (Harmony, 1996) and Voices of Integrative Medicine: Conversations and Encounters (Elsevier Science, 2003), she is the editor for Integrative Leadership, an e-newsletter published by Duke Integrative Medicine, and editorial director for EXPLORE: The Journal of Science and Healing.
Some stories are priceless, others political rants. I would have preferred it if the author didn't impose her commentary throughout every chapter. Wasn't crazy about her writing style and found her presence in every story imposing and vain. However, this is the only book I've found on the market that offers views of this critical life change that are not limited to the body. Amen.
I loved this book! It journeys through women's lives and the author shares her insights and what she has learned along the way. I highly recommend this book to all women, young and old.
