This is an early (1947) edition of the Goebbels diaries, the diaries end in 1943 in this edition as at this time much of the volumious work was missing.
The diaries offer an almost unparalleled insight into the Third Reich and key events of the period and during WW2. While the diaries are hardly a balanced source they are illuminating and the author was an intelligent, cynical and hard working observer and participant in the era. The Nazi viewpoint of key events if provided along with less well known aspects of the war, Goebbels for example was one of the few senior Nazis to visit bombed out areas.
