Interesting understanding of terrorists and their idea of martyrdom. I didn't like his way of defining them though with odd words that no other scholars like to use, but hey that's academia!

This is a key text in the psychological study of suicide bombers. It is based on the author's experience with Radical Islam both in Iran during and after the Revolution and working with prisoners in France. In it he develops a theory that ressentiment is a key motivator for suicide bombers. It is a slightly different take from Ariel Merari who finds that heroism is the primary motivator.
