Each year, the students at my library's local elementary school do a project on Japan. Needless to say, I'm always in need and on the lookout for good nonfiction on the country of Japan. This one totally fits the bill. The layout was great...except for the ONE instance where a sentence was broken over two pages. It's nothing bad, just something that kind of gets to me as so few children's nonfiction books do this.

The information was also great--I liked the small activities spread throughout. And I learned something, which was AWESOME! I will definitely be adding this to my library.

Recommended, grades 3 and up.
