Tarot of the Sidhe Tarot of the Sidhe

Rate this book
Open the gates to the Celtic Otherworld with this inspiring new Tarot vivid and powerful, 78-card deck painted through direct inspiration from the Sidhe, (pronounced Shee), the ancient Gaelic name for the Faery race. The Sidhe take us beyond popular images of flower fairies, to a deeply magickal and spiritual set of images that take Tarot reading to a deeper level and may be used for meditation, magick, and more. Connecting with the Sidhe at this time may help you reconnect with inner powers of the primal Earth and bring healing to the land around you. The cards use original, non-derivatory symbolism and potent imagery within traditional Tarot structure. This Faery deck is born from shamanic techniques and can help you build a stronger connection with their realm. If you wish to strengthen your intuition and perception of the Otherworld, then this is the deck for you. Descriptions, meanings, and keywords are explored. There are also channeled oracle messages received from the beings on the cards.

This is an incredible deck. I've had it for a year and it is my favorite divination deck. Some people say that different tarots have a different personality, and compared to my other decks the Tarot of the Sidhe has a comforting energy and can be very blunt, but if you pull more cards about a reading you're taken aback by I find it really tries to help you work through everything to keep you on your best path. The energy from this deck is so heartwarming and the art is beautiful. I only just saw that Emily Carding has written books and I can't wait to read them to support my relationship with this deck. The lamination isn't a problem for me- I really love the quality of the cards. Thank you so much for making this, Emily! If anyone is looking at this deck wondering if they should buy it, and if you're looking for an experience- if you've been attracted to fairies at all, even in little ways when you were a child- this deck could be a tool that expands your practice and helps you find your way.

I haven't had a chance to work with the cards yet but wanted to express my disappointment that they're quite heavily laminated. I imagine publishers do this to make them more durable, but I'd prefer to replace them regularly than suffer shininess. Also, the deck is wider and the pile of cards taller than most, making them difficult to shuffle for anyone with smaller than average hands (I have average sized hands, and these cards feel too wide even for em).

The artwork is colourful and detailed, though sometimes slightly child-like. The images on the cards seem quite powerful at first glance, particularly the minor and court cards, which are, in most cases, as detailed as the majors.

I'll edit this review to add more details once I've had a chance to work with them.
