I once owned this book when I was in High School (2000-2002) and back then, I didn't much care for it. I sold it to half priced books. Now as an adult (16 years later), I decided to re-read it. I found it at my local library. After 10 years in the beauty and cosmetics industry, I must say that my feelings haven't much changed about this book. I realize it was written at a time when the cosmetics industry didn't offer what it offers now but I don't think this book was all inclusive...least of all for all latinas. I will say, however, that they did do a pretty good job as an overview. I would have liked for this book to be a little more indepth. But this book isn't terrible. I just think it's outdated. But a fun read nonetheless.

While there wasn't a whole lot of information in here I didn't already know (and the one piece of info I was specifically looking for was sadly absent) It was really rather pleasant to have a book full of images of beautiful women who I can relate to physically. It would probably be a nice book for a young teenager who hasn't learned the makeup matching and hair control lessons the hard way.
