About the author

Cornelia Amiri was introduced through books to the woman who became her favorite historical character, Boudica. The Celtic Warrior Queen made her start writing professionally. Cornelia loves history and in reading a book about the dark ages, she came across the rebel queen, who inspired Cornelia so much, she started jotting down notes, but they were fiction, visions of her involved in the Boudica revolt. Before Cornelia knew it, she’d accidentally written a rough draft for a novel. And she’s been writing books on purpose ever since. Drawing on her love of a happy ending, Cornelia has written over 40 published romance books.

Now, for the more mundane stuff — Cornelia Amiri and her muse, Severus the Cat, live amid the hustle and bustle of sultry Houston, Texas. When not writing, Cornelia loves to read, watch movies, and attend comic cons. She is currently working on a sequel to Rare Finds and a sequel to The Brass Octopus, which she is renaming and republishing as The Librarian and the Rake.

Scottish legends, a sith female vampire named Murdina made her way to the human world to find a human man for love, not food. Cameron was on the road playing the bagpipes attracted the attention of Murdina, who danced along with his playing.
He took her to bed and Murdina needs him to say I love you to be able to stay with him. Her sisters get involved and threaten to drain him dry. Even with the Goddess mother helping her, will she be able to have Cameron fall in love with her or will her sisters drain him dry?

Murdina wants to be loved and cherished unlike her sisters. Murdina wants to keep cairn being open a secret from her sisters. Murdina sneaks away without her sisters knowledge. Murdina meets Cameron Hayes and falls hard for the man in spite of everything she's been taught. Cameron can't quite believe Murdina wants him. Murdina's sisters notice her absence and find her with Cameron. Murdina doesn't want Cameron hurt no matter what. Can Murdina and Cameron be a couple? Your answers await you in Vampire Highland Fling.

I really enjoyed this novella. The characters and story were complex, raw, real, compelling, honest, and down to earth too. I can' definitely see myself getting more books from this author in the future.

My Review:
Vampire Highland Fling is another quick sexy read when you don't have a lot of time. The story has a good plot and contains some Scottish mythology and it was fun to learn a little bit about it.

Murdina wants what her sister Sorcha found, love. She doesn't know what love feels like but she's willing to find out. Only able to underhill when the stones of the ancient cairn are disturbed, Murdina sneaks out without her sisters knowing.

After playing the bagpipes at a wedding, Cameron comes upon a beautiful woman who begins to dance as he plays for her. He's immediately enchanted by her graceful movements. Murdina is delighted that this man is so muscular and handsome. They are instantly attracted to each other and Murdina wants to stay with Cameron.
Murdina is determined and goes after what she wants, I liked that about her. Cameron is also very likable, immediately trying to think of a way he can support her. He was very unselfish in that respect. I wanted to see them be together so they could be happy.

I know Ms. Amiri doesn't have much influence on the art that goes on the cover, but this cover is somewhat misleading in that the story contains female and not male vampires. As a reader first and a reviewer second, it's really frustrating when the cover has nothing to do with the story. I still found Vampire Highland Fling a pleasant and enjoyable read.

"Vampire Highland Fling is the second book in the Dancing Vampires series. I have read several books by this author and enjoyed them. Cornelia Amiri really knows her Druids so, when I saw this book, I thought I had to try it out, as it was different from druids. I am so glad that I did. This may be a short story but Ms. Amiri makes it read like a full-length novel.

I felt sorry for Murdina. She just wanted love like everyone else and all her sisters wanted was to keep Murdina from love. Cameron is so sweet. He really cared for Murdina and he was sexy as hell. I enjoyed reading this book so much that I am going to go back and read book one."

"Amazing Vampire series!"
In book #1 Sorcha finds her true love Ian. Now Murdina wants what her sister has lol. One day Murdina finds one of the portals open to the Highlands. So she sneaks out. she comes across a Cameron playing the bag pipes dressed in a kilt. The wind catches his kilt and Murdina sees his Manhood and decides he is going to be the one for her lol. Only her sisters find her with him so she has to send him away to keep her sisters try to kill him. Can Murdina protect Cameron from her sisters? Will he want her as she wants him? The story lines in this series are amazing. You will love this series once you start reading it :)

A short story that reads as a full novel. The characters are well defined and the plot does not leave you with a lot of unanswered questions. This is the first piece of work I have read from this author but it definitely won't be the last.

I was drawn into the world of the fey with the first book. Cornelia Amiri continues the story here with a short hot story in a magical world, perfect for a quick evening read. I can't wait to read more in this series!

Not Bitten

This is not your typical vampire story. It is a nice twist for a change. Think along the lines of Sirens without song that have to drink blood.
