This story introduces children to key works by Van Gogh, Monet, Chagall, Gauguin, and Jackson Pollock. When Daisy decides to enter a painting competition, she sets off around the world traveling in the footsteps of great artists in search of inspiration.
Unimpressive book but it doesn't help that it features some unimpressive artists either. I have personally never been a fan of Gauguin or Pollack. It really should have featured Matisse as her painting at the end is vaguely reminiscent of his style and he was actually talented. I appreciate that at least Chagall is here, he's not often brought up in kids books. Last, Van Gogh and Monet, while I love their artworks, are often featured in children's books about art.
