was interested in :
- the reasons for the rise of the USA in the early peace years and how this slowed due to their want for greater political standing such as through the adoption of the Marshall plan
- the reasons for the fall of the 'Golden Age' and how that caused a move from Keynesian policy to monetarism, with Thatcherism and Reaganomics
- The reasons for the formation of the ECSC and how that turned into the EU.
- how inequality is meant to rise after industrialisation and then fall (beta convergence) however this is not always seen
-the political influence Western countries had over those who they gave aid to
Need to look at in greater detail :
- the movement away from the gold standard
- Eurodollars
