Listened to the audiobook, which is read by the author and suitable for 1.75x speed. It was nice. I really liked hearing -- and for the first time -- a rather straightforward theory on why strange things can happen in houses that people attribute to ghosts but were (surprisingly) measured to be false. Overall, I enjoyed the stories and experiences this author chose to share with her audience. 3.5 stars.
Favourite Quotes:
"It was one of the most beautiful phenomena that I have ever seen, watching the energy fields, and I feel privileged to have done that at such a young age and to have a sense of the energy that is around the body that can be psychically perceived by all of us."
"[That teaching] pointed out to me how powerful we are as human beings and how as a result of what is going on inside of us we could not only alter our own bodies but we can alter the physical surroundings."
"At this point I want to say that it’s always important how and when to tell a patient about psychic information. It’s often not useful to just blurt out, 'I had a psychic impression that this is so.'"
"The psychic material [in dreams] is presented in a neutral detached way."
Easy to read. Author talks a lot about herself, which I suppose is to be expected. Basically she was born with the gift with mother passing on the psychic genes to daughter(s) throughout the generations. But despite having the ability innate within her the author passes on how common lay people can become psychic as well. Basically you have to meditate, pray, pay attention to your dreams (dream journal), ponder other people after you meditate and continue doing these things (practice) until it works for you. Nothing different from other new age books out there about how to open yourself up to the "spirit."
Judith reads the audiobook in a really natural way so worth listening to rather than reading. Amazing stories of her psychic senses - predicting where shipwrecks are predicting suicides or seeing accidents that have recently occurred or are about to occur. Tips to cultivate your own intuition and clairvoyance such as meditation techniques, prayer, psychic tuning with feedback, tuning into and paying attention to your dreams
