About the author

Ann Heinrichs is the author of more than 200 books for children and young adults. They cover U.S. and world history and culture, science and nature, and English grammar. Ann has also enjoyed careers as a children’s book editor and an advertising copywriter. An avid traveler, she has toured Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and East Asia. Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, she now lives in Chicago. She enjoys biking, kayaking, and flying kites.

In this book called Adjectives, it introduces the word by giving fun examples and helpful hints. It also discusses what they are and what other parts of speech act like an adjective. By this book having tons of examples, definitions, and facts their are lots of ways to teach literacy in the classroom. Students can draw a picture of themselves and using what they have learned, they can come up with different adjectives that describe them. Students can also a passage and underline the adjectives they can identify. The more practice the students have with different parts of speech, the more they will understand the rules and how their used.
