Professor Dr. Julius Hans Schoeps ist ein deutscher Historiker und Politikwissenschaftler. Er war von 1974-1991 Direktor des Salomon Ludwig Steinheim-Instituts für deutsch-jüdische Geschichte an der Universität Duisburg. Von 1992 bis 2014 war er Gründungsdirektor des Moses Mendelssohn Zentrums für europäisch-jüdische Studien an der Universität Potsdam.
Er erhielt mehrere Auszeichnungen:
1997: Goldener Rathausmann der Stadt Wien
2005: Bundesverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse
2009: Österreichisches Ehrenkreuz für Wissenschaft und Kunst I. Klasse
2014: Verdienstorden des Landes Brandenburg
2020: Großes Verdienstkreuz der Bundesrepublik Deutschland


Professor Dr. Julius Hans Schoeps is a German historian and political scientist. From 1974-1991 he was director of the Salomon Ludwig Steinheim Institute for German-Jewish History at the University of Duisburg. From 1992 to 2014 he was founding director of the Moses Mendelssohn Center for European-Jewish Studies at the University of Potsdam.
