Not overly impressed with this cookbook. It doesn't seem to be designed with a child's ability or palate in mind. Not that I'm looking for a book with nothing but chicken nuggets, but some of the recipes are rather complicated and choices like Salad Niçoise seem a bit sophisticated for children (okay, I suppose it's mainly just tuna and hard boiled eggs on salad, but still, the anchovies would be a no-go for our girls.) Our girls certainly are not ready for quiches, yet.

Perhaps this cookbook is designed more for intermediate cooks and would be better for middle-grade children or even high schoolers, but the title states it's a children's cookbook and that the book includes "over 50 simple recipes that anyone can cook." I wouldn't even attempt some of them - especially considering our girls' tastes and my limited time.

So, despite the clear directions, the diagrams and numerous illustrations and photographs, I just wasn't all that I pressed with this cookbook. It's okay, but I've seen many others that are better, especially for children.
