Another random find given to me as a present. There are 14 designs here. The instructions are printed in the book. But to make the robots, you use the CD that comes embedded in the book's cover.

I have built the 3 most basic designs (they're like boxes) and am working on a slightly more difficult one now. Some of the designs are actually quite elaborate.

My favorite thing about this book is the generous license: you can put the paper robots on your website (as long as it's not a logo) or as part of a video game. The other awesome feature is that you can choose to print pre-colored PDFs or color your own layered versions in Photoshop.

Heavy paper is recommended for building robots, but paper weights are in metric.

All designs come sized for both A4 and Letter paper. (That's where the hundreds comes from: 14 designs, 2 sizes, and multiple coloring options.)

The patterns are well done, but several are quite small if printed on 8.5 x 11 or A4 paper.

The instructions in the book itself assume more than they should about the construction, and appear to not have been tested by the editorial staff prior to publication.

Regardless, the designs are interesting and provide a high level of entertainment for a small investment in paper, printing ink, glue, and the occasional toothpick and rubberband.
