different flavor reading as adult but felt it was written for that audience too many references young boys would not get, felt like I was reading snippets of twains favorite Shakespeare pieces, and then he goes and rewrites the famous Hamlet soliquy in vernacular that was a riot to read; the saving of Jim went on and on to too many unrealistic situations and bored me.

Published in 1960, it was "the definitive study to date" according to American Heritage magazine. A great read and source of all kinds of info about "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn." I have not read the annotated Finn but it couldn't possibly be more fun than this book.
