I don't think I built a single project out of this book exactly, but that's not unusual or a knock on the book. I tend to do my own thing, but I got a lot of great measurements & ideas out of it for over 25 years. My copy is well used with the cover coming off, notes written & stuck all over it. That says a lot right there.

There is a section on tools & how to use them, but I don't believe I've ever read it, so can't comment. They have some very nice characters to draw with a grid system that makes it easy for anyone to make nice replicas at any size they want or need.
