Finally! This is a detailed book that takes each of the learning objectives for a Kindergartener and then provides multiple lesson plans, activities and games for learning each skill. The many activities allow you to scale up, or down, the level of difficulty to match your child's ability and develop on it.
Although it insists it is not meant to be a curriculum for homeschooling, it is more helpful and thorough than many books that promise a lot more.
One note of caution: the initial section on "determining what kind of learner you have" is pseudo-sciencey crap and may have fooled readers who never read past it. Once you do get past that, just ignore the "learning type" labels on the activities and you will have a far superior book than the average homeschooling manual.
Used this book as a reference when I was homeschooling my oldest daughter. It has a lot of great tips and fun activities to try out with your Kindergartener. My daughter enjoyed many of these mini lessons and learned a great deal of new concepts. This book works great for both homeschooling parents and parents of kids in public/private schools. And really helped me to prepare my daughter for 1st Grade!
