This was an interesting book but it had a lot of detailed information on the subject. It's also a sociological examination of the subject, not so much a history. Very interesting but kind of difficult at times. Lots of names. Dead people no one even knows about today. Yet they shaped the Church we now inhabit. What else could Pius X have done to stop the modernists? He did everything yet still they prevailed.
