This is another of my favorite quilting books, in part because this is the way I approach all my quilting. I'm constantly changing the size, the number of blocks, the colors, and anything else to suit my needs. There are so many good ideas in the book that I'd have to say that this is one I could live with if I had no other books. It is not, however, for beginners. It's not meant to be, but you don't have to know a whole lot about quilting to use it.
