A revolution is underway as church leaders across North America adopt and adapt contemporary worship styles into church life. However, these individuals often lack the theological, cultural, and leadership training necessary to fully guide the body of Christ into meaningful worship encounters with God. One-stop learning is now available in this collection of resources from some of the leaders in Christian worship. The chapters offer an inter-disciplinary approach for worship leaders, pastors, musicians, and all those involved in worship planning. The experiences and diversity of worship reflected here cross denominational, cultural, and generational barriers, making this volume an essential tool for anyone interested in worship.

This is a somewhat eclectic collection of essays, previously published in journals or as chapters within other books, but gathered together and presented with a view toward the intersection of worship and culture. Neither "contemporary" nor "traditional" in the way those terms have come to be used, and really not of any one mind on the topic in general, the collection is a bit uneven (not surprisingly, given the variety of authors and the fairly wide span of originating dates and contexts for the essays). it's somewhat dated at this point, but nevertheless helpful, thought-provoking, and worthwhile.
