This book was definitely a mind opening into life after death, but it did contain prejudices and religious dogma. It predominately follows the teachings of Eckankar in its ideas on levels of consciousness and planes of the spirituality life after death as it's main thrust is to help humans find religious freedom, wisdom and love.
However, at the very end of the book he throws it all away. Even though this book was published in the seventies, Rampa has no reason to put women down as he still blows his own self-righteous horn.
The ending 'The Old Author's Dream' confirms that he is yet a confirmed chauvinist in that his story features a Liberated Woman who is denied entrance into Christian Heaven because she doesn't wish to be judged by her married or unmarried relationship to men. Because of her refusal to fall on her knees to penis subservience, she is cast into the fires of Hell.
Pity Rampa ruined such a great book with his feeling of inferiority and low self-esteem, by succumbing to the Little Boy's Club.

It is interesting to read about Rampa's idea as to where different people go after this life. However, I wish the story was a bit better built and written. The way his own name was mentioned throughout the story also sounds a bit of advertising and thus devalue the whole thing, I think.
