There are lots of new and interesting books that take fairy tales to new places, flip them or add new wrinkles, often to comic effect. This, unfortunately, isn't one of them. Other than making the main character a duck in the title and illustrations, it really doesn't affect the story at all. It is just a straight telling of the Red Riding Hood story using pictures of a duck, I didn't even get any duck puns.

Animal Fairy Tale series-A duck is little red riding hood in this simplified retelling of little red riding hood. Young readers will think it is humorous. I enjoyed the author note's detailing the origination of the fairy tale.

I really liked it; the only problem I found was that it was very basic and short. It would be a better book for kids to read to themselves.

This was a great twist on the story. The story line was the same, however, the main characters are ducks. I would use this to teach the art of storytelling and how stories are passed down from generation to generation.
I would also use this book to teach the kids to make their own short story.
I could also use this book to help the students learn the order of a story and then have them write their own.
