I firmly believe that sometimes books come to you or are read when you listened them. I started this book waaaaaaay back in late July of 2018, and I read less than a third of it at that time. Over my holiday time away from work I decided to pick it back up again, and it couldn’t have been at a more opportune time.
There is SO much I love about this book! It has inspired me to dig deeper into my own work, and to do so driven by my values and strengths. I am a firm believer in the methods of positive psychology and looking at talent individually within an organization. This book has shown me that it is possible to create an organizational shift around human equity and what we individually bring to our workplaces to make them places where we feel inspired and engaged.
I also have an even longer To Read list after this book and it’s inspired me to once again look at myself as an individual and as a leader. Defining my purpose and being able to live it out has always been of high importance to me, but this book has given me more tools to examine myself and the places I work so that every person feels that they can be and are heard and so that each person feels and knows that they are contributing to the whole. I know I will be coming back to this book time and again. Absolutely wonderful.
