Ein alte Rezension wiederentdeckt!
Magie und höllische Verwicklungen (traditionell: Fuentes, postmodern persiflierend: Barthelme), Konfrontationen mit Monstren, wobei Menschen selbst zu Ungeheuern werden (Buzatti und Ballard), menschliche Existenz innerhalb verquere Zeitströme (Eliade, Aichinger), "Bibliotheksphantastik": Romanheld Felix Krull macht sich bei Joyce Carol Oates selbständig, unerklärliche Band zwischen Mensch und Natur (Cortazar, Calvino), philosophisch spekulative Weltschöpfung (Borges) sind die Themen dieser hochkarätigen Anthologie, die Franz Rottensteiner ursprünglich für eine amerikanische Leserschaft zusammengestellt hat. Als Einstieg in die Phantastik hervorragend geeignet - lesenswert.
