I got this book free, and it was worth every penny! Can't wait for the companion cookbook, "It's All Air" by Gwyneth Paltrow.

This book was offered for free on Smashwords, so I thought I'd get it for a giggle...

One quote stood out though:

"Technique alone, I realized, is not enough.
Salvation from food requires that you believe—really believe—that you can eat air. Skepticism of any kind will ruin your digestion, make it impossible for you to consume oxygen, and you will starve to death.

...Perhaps I should read it again - with a more serious approach.

Still - this book was written, edited, and advertised very professionally, leaving me with a thought to ponder of my own:

Is this book proving that other non-fiction health / wellbeing / diet / nutrition books on the shelves in stores are all just "wikipedia-like"? Can and should the strategic creation of these books be validated or should they all be inevitably placed on a "to be confirmed" plateau in our brains...

Or maybe I'm just thinking too much and I have to believe I can actually eat air for it to work. Meh. :)

I originally thought this was just going to be a funny little story but actually it was quite interesting and took a serious tone with the facts through most of it. The other things mentioned like evolution, random mutation, and little facts about examples of things made it really interesting and not like I thought it was going to be. I have to admit I thought he only actually sounded insane by the last third of the audiobook once he got to his point that air isn't the end goal. It was short, kinda interesting and unique.

Comical

It was funny and short. Had it been any longer I would've stopped reading it. It's an interesting view that points out so many truths and shows how people can be so ridiculous about something so simple (eating healthy). It's free and I read it in a couple hours. just get it.

I got this book thinking it would be a tongue in cheek about the obsession with diets. but it isn't that. This guy gets a little more "out there" as the book goes along. By the time I finished it I was afraid to touch the book for fear of getting some of the insanity.

An entertaining satire on all the diets out there. Everything is bad for you! Let's all just eat air. The afterword at the end is very funny.

Seriously?! 😕

What a absurd book.

He started by saying there is no God, but then further along he is claiming to be God... I am utterly confused.

If it was so simple and beneficial to "eat"air, why are people dying of starvation in the world? If, like the author is claiming, it is possible why did he not start with Central Africa, Afghanistan where people are struggling for food (and are "thin") so he can showcase his experiment by helping them.

I don't understand, was this supposed to be published outside America???

Overall it's a crap book, it'll make you question your mental stability -or the authors- and make you wonder what the world is coming to.

P.s.. Do people still say fatty or fatso??? 😶 😕 😐

The first part of the 12 steps to the total air consumption is worth a serious consideration for anyone who wants to eat healthier. The other part is not convincing to me.

Got quite a few laughs out of this one. It's short but I'd like it better if it were even shorter. The humour is pretty heavy-handed and wears thin past the half-way mark. Still worth a read.

Such a silly book! It was pretty funny for a while, but then the author included stuff from his "assistant" and it went downhill, though it did end with a dandy of a cliff hanger!

Have you ever wondered what super models ate? I've always thought it was a leaf of lettuce and a diet water once a day. I realized my mistake, however, when I discovered this life-changing eating plan. Air. They eat air. And probably that good O18 kind, too. Sure, the regular models can get by on O17 but nothing best for the supers.

Fantastic parody of every diet book I've ever read.

Food-Free

Hilarious romp of a book. I laughed all the way through. It does pull out some good truths about our eating habits and that food addiction is real, but treats it with the impishness it deserves. Showing the worry and desire to be skinny to the point of death for the silliness it is.
