Emergency Response Guidebook, 2004 This internationally known official guide is designed for first responders during the initial phase of a hazardous materials/dangerous goods incident. It was developed by the United States Government for use by the fire fighters, police and other emergency services personnel who may be the first to arrive of a transportation incident involving dangerous goods. It helps first responders to quickly identify the specific or generic hazards of the material (s) involved in the incident while protecting themselves and the general public during the initial response phase of the incident. It also includes indexes of hazardous materials by identification number and by chemical name and a table of initial isolation and protective action distances.
This guide is intended for first responders reacting to hazardous material spills or conditions. It could also be useful to those who routinely deal with these hazardous material and conditions.
