Palestina: El hilo de la memoria

The social and cultural struggles that the Palestinian people have faced over the last 60 years fuel this mosaic of historical experiences and milestones. The author shares her own memories and experiences in Palestine and presents the interviews she conducted with the elderly who were expelled from their land when the state of Israel was established in 1948. She argues that it is the indifference of Western powers that has allowed the gradual erosion of the Palestinian state, and traces the development of what she terms the “Zionist project” that began to develop in Europe in the 19th century as she unravels history one thread at a time.

Las pruebas sociales y culturales a las que los palestinos se han enfrentando durante los últimos 60 años avivan este mosaico de vivencias e hitos históricos. La autora comparte sus propios recuerdos y experiencias en Palestina y presenta las entrevistas que hizo a los ancianos expulsados de su tierra cuando se estableció la nación de Israel en 1948. Arguye que la indiferencia de las potencias occidentales ha permitido la erosión del estado palestino y traza el desarrollo de lo que denomina “el proyecto sionista” que comenzó en Europa en el siglo XIX mientras deshace la historia hilo por hilo.
