Martin Ralph De Haan (1891 - December 13, 1965) was a Bible teacher, founder of Radio Bible Class and editor of monthly devotional guide Our Daily Bread.
Even though first published 50 years ago the tenants of the faith shared in this book are still relevant today for any believer in Christ. It is in His work we believe whereby dying on the cross for our sins and being raised from the dead to ascend into heaven leaving us with the Holy Spirit to be our comforter, counselor and guide, we are saved by grace and not by the law or of works. Our author repeats himself many times but that is good in that he argues against those that try to live by the law either in legalism, or by just saying live and let live, or some other means other than allowing the finished work of Christ to rule in their lives. My friend was given this book by his father many years ago, so it holds a special intimate place in his life and his conversion to Christianity from a life destined for hell so many years ago. I feel honored that he would share his testimony with me and this book to allow me to read it and soak in its truth.
An excellent short book on the subject of... get ready for it: Law vs. Grace! Seriously, if you only read one book on the subject, this one will do for almost any Christian.
