Is this book better than the $19.99 zombie remake the author said he wasted his money on? I don't know. What I do know is that I'm leery of any author who claims, in his introduction, that he's offering a unique zombie tale better than that $19.99 remake.
Let the readers decide.
Hollow Shell wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. If Chris, who's goal is to find his wife, but who manages to sneak in a few lusty thoughts about the porcelain-skinned teenager he saves, were to get eaten by a zombie - I wouldn't care. That's because the author didn't make me care. Part of the reason is because Part One is too short. You can read it over lunch it's so short.
Another problem I have with the book is the dialogue. Break it up. Don't give us long speeches. Make it realistic.
I did like the description of the zombies and of the zombie attacks. Those were well done and gave me a good image.
