A collection of farm patterns--including farmers, harvesting tools, hay and vegetable fields, and barn occupants--this handbook contains fun and innovative designs. Knitters can create smaller, individual projects with one or two farming articles or can combine them for a rug, sweater, or handbag that represents the entire homestead.
A great way to use smaller, colorful scraps of leftover wool, these delightful farm patterns are perfect for knitters at any skill level.
Great fun, and inspiring for courageous young knitters. I've adapted several of the designs for other projects, and I can really see this as a grandmummy way to get the offspring clicking their little needles.
The farmyard and animals are adorable, and the book has lots of photos, but it is very lacking in detailed instructions. The patterns are simple enough, but almost too simple without much of direction. It says things like, "Attach strands of yarn for mane," or, "Crochet loops for the chicken's tail feathers." It's fine if you are creative enough to just go with it, but don't make this as a first project! We're still working on it, so maybe someday we will have the whole farmyard done!
Cute knitting ideas. The directions assume you are creative and can figure stuff out on your own. I guess anyone crazy enough to start such a detailed project would have to be. Well, I jumped in a made a few animals... and they are darling! I hope to work on the whole farmyard over time for a great little homemade toy to play with at grandma's house. Wish me luck!
