The selections in this volume have been selected because they were suited to the mental, emotional, and technical equipment of college students, as well as to furnish literature which, innately, carries a purpose of the author which will stimulate the desired external reaction in the pupil. The general objectives to establish the power of communication, to awaken creative power through imagination, to develop a personality through wholesome spiritual and moral reactions, to exercise sympathy for the good and the beautiful, to arouse enthusiasm, to establish better speech habits, and to train the entire body as a means of communication.
