Interesting to see all of the major denominations and their beliefs laid out. Nevertheless, the book is very biased. While there is educational gain to be taken from this book, the book is still highly promotional of the Campbellite tradition (Church of Christ). It anounces that everything this one denomination teaches is 100% correct and everyone else is mostly wrong. If one wishes to take educational gain from this book, they will need to ignore the CoC bias and simply read the facts of different denominational beliefs. I think the greatest educational gain to be had is learning the Biblical interpretations of the Church of Christ.
This book highlights the history of specific denominations and parallels the creeds/rules of each group with the Bible. Do they match or contradict? This is an eye opener in sheer historical data and creed information. And how each group compares to the Bible and the NT church during the time of the apostles. I use this book alot through the years and give this study resource to my students.
This book is a useful reference for those who seek to understand how various denominations and religious traditions have departed from the Word of God. I have read it in the past, and my current reading has been for a study group that I am attending.
