Basically lean six sigma is eliminate problem, remove inefficiency and waste, and improve working condition. Therefore, in my case is with my current job on delivering strategic plan.

Most of strategic plan delivered with Gap Analysis Model. So consultant prepare current state by doing assessment, the result is gap analysis. Based on the gap, consultant developed future state. This model is not effective:

1. There are result duplication, at least two times. In the preparation, in the current state assessment and in the future states.

2. Bad documentation lead more complicated as duplication occured.

3. The analysis part is only took less than 10% of the overall project

However gap analysis model seems effective because it can divided a project into two phases. Which is easy to be understood.

There are other alternatives such as: Observation and Implications Model. Observation is just a fact finding and Implication is just the result. However the weakness seems it does not have an analysis part. Analysis might be part of the implication. This can be apply it more stable organization.
