Admittedly a very niche read, that nevertheless includes a few provoking thoughts. It feels like it was written more as a argument paper to include "War Treason" (a quirky piece of NS military penal law) into the rehabilitation effort by the German parliament. The fact that this work was still in progress more than half a century past the fact is interesting in itself.
That makes this book more of a historical artefact, I suspect it was intended that way. It contains only some 120 pages of actual discussion around this very specific count, and the rest are NS court verdicts concerning the issue. The former part is still interesting and accessible, eventhough it is very specific. An interesting and certainly underdiscussed issue in our history, but clearly not a book written for the general interest.
