A Chinese lineage village: Sheung Shui

Baker’s field study discusses Chinese lineage within the framework of Chinese local organization. His focus is the village of Sheung Shui, in Hong Kong’s New Territories. The majority of people of the Sheung Shui village were of the Liao lineage, and village-wide institutions were also lineage institutions.
