The poem foregrounds the form rather than the content of an "To have said of this room / what is finite is its outside / what makes it a room / walls there are six of them / frunishings may count but it is / the space that makes of it / what we will call a room / finite is the outside / all that counts as a structure / room but I see more things / to say of it this is a room" Theodore Enslin is the author of many volumes of poetry including the recent NOW AND SELECTED POEMS from the National Poetry Foundation.
