When I say this is the best book I’ve ever read about compensation - my line of work - it may sound like faint praise. And in a sense it is, because there simply are a limited number of books on the topic. My favorite aspect here is how the authors pit economists’ theories against psychologists’ theories, and don’t hesitate to call bullshit on either, where unsupported by evidence. For a highly specialized audience, undoubtedly, but a bracing kick in the preconceptions for someone like me.
