WILLIAM HASKELL settled in Salem, Massachusetts in 1635 and then removed to Gloucester, Massachusetts, by 1643. He was the second son of WILLIAM HASKELL and ELINOR FOULE, whose descendants are described in the book, Haskells in North America – Descendants of William Haskell and Elinor Foule Through Five Generations , published by the Haskell Family Association. WILLIAM HASKELL married MARY TYBBOT, the daughter of WALTER TYBBOT on 6 November 1643 in Gloucester, Massachusetts. He built a house in West Gloucester, Massachusetts about 1680 that still stands today.
