After fumbling my 2-state taxes, I decided that it was time to embrace math and re-teach myself starting with the basics.

Although there's a lot of annoying "teen" language, this is a great overview of basic math concepts. The chapters are small and satisfying with titles such as "Percents: A System with HUNDREDS of Uses" and "The Elements of Geometry: Are you Euclid-ing Me?" You can spend about 30-45 minutes per chapter and feel like you have truly revisited the concept.

I plan to move on from this to books that go a little more in depth -- algebra, geometry, and why not: calculus.
