Offers a comprehensive overview of today's research into our origins and the human diaspora across the globe.
The questions of how Homo sapiens has evolved, what makes human beings different from their non-human ancestors, and how human beings came to populate the Earth have existed for as long as we have been a cogiative species - approximately 200,00 years. However, only relatively recently has our family tree begun to be pieced together.
In "The Origins of Man" Dr Douglas Palmer takes the search for our acestry into the 21st century. Using evidence gleaned from sources as diverse as fossil remains and extinct human DNA he creates a comprehensive overview of the current state of knowledge of our origins and the human diaspora across the globe.
The Book is richly supplemented with detailed, specially commissioned cartography, illustrations and photographs.
Douglas Palmer is a science writer, academic, and author of many books on paleontology, including Life Before Man and Graptolites: Writing in the Rock.
