After thirty-five years of triumphantly adjusting to and viewing life from a wheelchair, VIEWS FROM MY CHARIOT: A Wheelchair Oddity is a type of CliffsNotes from Cynthia for anyone managing a life-altering disability, illness or injury. Divided into two parts (memoir and self-help), it is a humorous, optimistic, problem-solving, never-give-up, blueprint for physical independence and emotional freedom. Not only will it encourage and instruct, but it also inspires. You can follow the author at www.conversationswithcynthia.com.
Living a glamorous, adventurous life as a photographer’s model and teaching children to ski, SCI brought Cynthia clarity of purpose to encourage and applaud others' chrysalis. She served as Pilot’s Club Handicapped Woman of the Year, Ms. Wheelchair Alabama, has a website/blog dedicated to SCI, and is an author.
If you have a porch swing or a porch rocker, glider swing...etc please read this book there with a tall glass of iced tea. This is more like a conversation with a friend than any self help book I've ever read. Cynthia is a wonderful story teller, she gets so caught up in the telling of the story it's entirely possible to forget you are reading. There are self help tips but they are not just limited to the disabled or limited-abled. Some of the tips are very useful to anyone with cats!! This is a well constructed book and I hope her first of many.
