Distant Echo is the constant reminder of the inner battle experienced while coping with lost love in the pursuit of fulfilling dreams and desires. During a very bleak and desolate time in my life, I struggled to grasp illumination from within. As the passion I created in these characters began to evolve, I found my personal redemption and inspiration. Amelias and Catherines combined potency rekindled my own power. Im hopeful that their optimistic and modern lesbian love story will guide you home to a life truly lived.
It's a book that has a lot of heart and passion, with an interesting premise, but I was expecting a conflict that really didn't happen. The beginning is dramatic, a woman is on the verge of an important decision in her life, but she meets the very person whose memory she was trying to run from and who's in a relationship with another woman. I thought this would be one of the main plotlines of the book, but many things were resolved quickly and 60% of the book read as a long anti-climatic epilogue. It was cozy and hopeful, the author clearly wanted to deliver a message or share an important insight, but the story suffered in my opinion. The voices of the protagonists ended up blurring into each other and at the end I couldn't bring myself to really care about them.
