This book was given after an ACTS retreat. While reading it I found numerous references to ideas and refuted theology that contradicts Catholic Theology that is in keeping with the Church's teaching on many subjects, not the least of which is the divinity of Jesus Christ, sin, forgiveness, the economy of salvation, and of course the true meaning of the Eucharist. The Eucharist is described in many euphemisms but never in its reality of the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus. Hart describes an imaginary conversation that a retreatant has with God, in which God says "I tried to stop it and did all I could.." There are many other examples too numerous to note that reveal this text to be the very modernist idea that Pope St. Pius IX, X and XI warned us about. This book should not be on the shelf of any Catholic.

I read this book daily upon the exit of a 4 day long retreat. I really enjoyed the lay out of the book and how Hart organizes his thoughts. The layout of the book made it easy for me to continue journaling after the retreat. I recommend this book for anyone struggling in maintaining a journaling habit. Some sections are hard to read due to their blunt honesty. I will admit I had to face the music a couple times while reading through them. One section in particular (about sex in our modern world) really shocked me and forced me to consider God and sex in a way I have never done before. I recommend this book for any person who has been a victim of sexual assault or abandonment. Hart addresses issues with sheer honestly or blunt kindness. Good read.

My wife and I completed a retreat in February and received this book from our group. The retreat/Catholic was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The book is basically a great guide to help you along/post retreat to handle life day to day with biblical quotes and how to best as possible take the high/the deep soul searching you lived and bring it to your life every day. My personal life would be EMPTY without the Lord to guide me/the book and retreat just reinforced what is heartfelt by myself. A great follow up retreat read for guidance.
