I had Dr. Kolb for Confessions II at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis and always felt I was trying to fill a water glass from a fire hydrant. Here is a great refresher on the wonders of the catechism and what we can emphasize for our adults and young people as we teach them. And I'll bet you'll find something you hadn't thought about. He does a great job of presenting a lot of information quickly in a clear and entertaining way.

This book was wonderful in content and presentation. It is a helpful commentary on Luther's catechisms and it refreshed my own theological lenses through which I examine the world and seek to live in it faithfully.
The writing was choppy. It was not a quick read. Many sentences needed to be re-read multiple times before I could understand what was happening. It often felt like he was writing in incomplete sentences. There were significant typos in the book, even though this is the new and revised edition.
I'm glad to have read the book. It'll serve as another reference tool for me moving forward.
