Picked up this compact, well-organized Korean-English dictionary at Incheon Airport in 2014. Shockingly, page 397 defined heugin (African American) as “n***er.” It wasn’t until around 2020 that the publisher lazily slapped a strip of white paper over the slur, replacing it with “African American.” I even wrote the editor years ago—no response. This unconscionable“error” by Jae-Wook Lee, PhD, and the publishers deserves more than a negative review; pulling the book from shelves nationwide would be far more fitting.
