గుడి తెలుగులో ‘దేవస్థానం' పేరుతో సినిమా విడుదలైంది. సినిమా చూసిన తర్వాత నేను ఈ పుస్తకం చదివాను. పుస్తకం కన్న నాకు సినిమా నచ్చింది. పుస్తకం వాస్తవానికి కొద్దిగ దగ్గరగా వున్నా చదివే వారిని దృష్టిలో వుంచుకుని రాసినట్టుగా అనిపించింది. దేవాలయ ధర్మకర్త తను చనిపోయిన తర్వాత తన దహనక్రియలను జరుపమని ఓ వ్యక్తిని అడుగుతాడు. అతనిని ఎలా ఒప్పించాడు ఆ తరువాత ఏం జరుగుతుంది కథ సారాంశం. పుస్తకంలో వ్యక్తి కూతురు గురించి ఆమె పెళ్ళి గురించి వుంది, సినిమాలో వ్యక్తి గురించి అతనిని ఒప్పించడం ఆ తరువాత ఎం జరిగింది వరకే వుంది. హృదయానికి హత్తుకునిపొయే కథ.

This book is later made into a movie, makes one think about the human relations. The main character of the book is approached by a man, who want the main character to take care of the funeral details after his death. Shocked by this approach, he refuses to leave unless and until he is promised later what happens is really interesting. In this book there are several characters that add more to the book.
